Welcome to Iran UA fellowship,
The first Underearners Anonymous (UA) group in Iran was established in 2017. Since then, the fellowship has continued to grow, providing a supportive environment where members help one another recover from underearning and build healthier, more prosperous lives.
UA groups in Iran are organized into service districts, generally consisting of groups located near one another. In addition, because many Afghan members share the Persian (Farsi) language with members in Iran, our fellowship is grateful to share experience, strength, and hope across borders. District 6 also supports UA groups in Afghanistan, reflecting the spirit of unity and mutual support within our fellowship.

Introduction to the UA Iran Service Structure
Iranian UA Groups
UA groups in Iran that hold meetings in Persian (Farsi), along with one group from Afghanistan. Meetings are held either face-to-face or online.
Each group elects a GSR (General Service Representative), who ordinarily represents the group at the District Assembly meeting held on the first Friday of each month.
District Assembly
UA groups in Iran are organized into 11 districts. Each district has a District Assembly, which holds a monthly business meeting.
Each district has a Chair, Alternate Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and two DSRs (District Service Representatives). Districts also typically have service committees, such as Literature Sales and Distribution, Workshops and Training, Public Information and Public Relations, and Meeting Information.
Each month, the DSRs represent their district at the business meetings of the Iran Regional Service Council to share a wide range of concerns.
Iran Regional Service Council
The Iran Regional Service Council is composed of the DSRs (District Service Representatives) from the districts of Iran, together with the Iran area assembly officers consist of a chair, and an alternate chair, a secretary, a treasurer, an inter-group service representative, an alternate inter-group service representative and the chairs of the committees. All the officers and the chair of the committees are elected by district representatives.
The Council also has six service committees:
- Literature Committee: Printing, selling, and distributing UA literature throughout the districts.
- Website and Meeting Information Committee: Managing the UA website; updating meeting information and website content; maintaining statistics; and addressing technology-related matters.
- Workshops and Training Committee: Organizing workshops on all UA-related topics for members and trusted servants; coordinating with speakers regarding their availability and workshop scheduling; and, in cooperation with the ISR, inviting speakers from other countries.
- Public Information and Public Relations Committee: Handling public relations and communications with government agencies, institutions, organizations, professionals, and the media on behalf of the Fellowship; and communicating announcements to the districts.
- Translation Committee: Translating UA literature and other UA materials into Persian.
- Writing Committee: Collecting members’ experience, strength, and hope, and preparing written materials needed by UA groups.
The Iranian ISR and Alternate ISR, on behalf of the Iran Regional Service Council, are responsible for maintaining international communications with the committees and service structure of the GSB (General Service Board) and representing Iran at their meetings.
